April Message

Sir Knights and Ladies:
In a few short weeks our Templar year ends. The Annual conclave of the Grand Commandery of Pennsylvania will be held at the Harrisburg Hilton and Towers, May 22-26, 2008. Registration forms are available from your Recorder. The 155th Annual Conclave Committee has been enthusiastically working on making this conclave one of the best possible.
COMMANDERS - Evaluate your year and your Commandery (as taken from the 1998 Knights Templar Magazine). Most Commanders hope to leave their Commandery in a better condition than it was when they were installed. At the end of the Templar year, the Grand Commander is required to give a report on his stewardship. As commander of your Commandery, how would your report read? It is suggested that for your own information you ask yourself the following questions. The answers will enable you to evaluate your year as Commander, but more important, your successor can answer the same questions and have some direction on what he needs to do for improvement during the coming year.
- Did you provide worthwhile programs at ALL conclaves?
- Was there a reason to attend all conclave?
- Did you have some special programs to promote interest?
- Did you provide some activities that involved the ladies?
- Did you work as a TEAM MEMBER with the officers?
- Did you have rehearsals?
- Did your Commandery make a sincere effort to increase membership?
- Did the attendance at the Conclaves increase or decline?
- Did your Commandery have a fund-raising activity for the Eye Foundation?
- Did your visitation committee call on the sick, send cards, or make phone calls?
- Did all dais officers attend the Annual Conclave?
- Did all officers attend the Line Officer Seminar?
- Did the officers attend any Sectional Workshops?
- Is Templary better off for your having served?
We are in the final month of the Knights Templar Volunteer Eye Foundation Campaign which ends April 30. Committee Chairmen finish up with your fund raisers and get all funds turned in by the end of the month. Thank you.
Yours In Templary
Sir Knight Bryan L. Berry
Grand Commander
