Sir Knights and Ladies:

February is one of my favorite months.  Not only Valentine’s Day when we remember our loved ones, but we celebrate the birthdays of two of our most notable presidents.  It thrills me to remember in my growing-up days the tributes we recognized of Bro. George Washington and the home-spun rail splitting antics of Abraham Lincoln.  Yes – they were the good-ole-days although some difficult and hard times.  I like to think of them as times of opportunity.  This causes me to comment on the opportunities we have today.  As we chose to be Masons, we also chose to be Knights Templars.  We are blessed to have the FREEDOM of choice, which was handed down to us by our forefathers.  I had help making my choices and I am asking each of you to help a Brother make his choices.  Every Christian Mason should be a Knights Templar.  Will you give a Brother the opportunity of choice?  Ask him to sign a petition.

It is important that you make your reservations now for the Easter week-end in Alexandria, Va.  Call your hotel reservation to the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center Hotel.  The group name as “Knights Templar”.  Phone 1-800-HILTONS.  The Hotel is located at 5000 Seminary Road, Alexandria, VA, one block west off the US 395 express-way.  We will be bussed to the George Washington National Masonic Memorial for the Sun-Rise service.

The Division Commanders’ Seminar, the Past Division Commanders’ Annual Association meeting and banquet, and the Grand Officers’ Conference are held the first weekend in February.  Much is accomplished by these three very important bodies in our Grand Commandery for our betterment and success.
